South Arts Offers Travel Subsidies for 2012 Performing Arts Exchange

South Arts Offers Travel Subsidies for 2012 Performing Arts Exchange

As part of its efforts to enhance Southern arts organizations' capacity through technical assistance and other resources, South Arts (formerly the Southern Arts Federation), with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, is offering a limited number of professional development travel subsidies for nonprofit presenting arts organizations in its nine-state region to attend the 2012 Performing Arts Exchange, September 19- 22, 2012, in Miami Beach, Florida.

The program will provide financial support for conference expenses.

Only nonprofit and governmental presenting organizations in South Arts' nine-state region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) are eligible to apply.

Applicants must be new (first-time) PAE presenter participants or presenters who have not attended PAE since 2007. Participation is defined by organizational participation (not individual participation).

Applicants can request funding of up to $950 (up to $450 for registration and up to $500 for travel expenses). Awarded funds will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis only. Grant awards require at least a 2:1 match (for example, a $950 grant requires a match of $475). The minimum grant request is $250.

Complete program guidelines and the application form are available at the South Arts Web site.
