Workshop Description:
This course will give an overview of the most common legal issues nonprofits face. It will:
- Familiarize you with some of the basic concepts of corporate, labor, contract and tax laws.
- Review some of the basics of intellectual property and what legal steps you can take to protect your organization’s good name.
- Discuss risk management techniques your organization can adopt to reduce its risk of legal liability and help you know when you need to speak to a lawyer.
