NPower Taking Applications for 2007 Technology Innovation Award

NPower Greater DC Region, a nonprofit technology consulting firm, is now accepting applications for the 2007 Technology Innovation Award, presented by Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. The deadline to apply is September 7, 2007.

The award recognizes nonprofits in the Greater DC Region that are using technology in innovative ways and is the highlight of NPower's annual fundraising luncheon. The grand prize is $2,000 in cash and a technology consulting, software, and hardware package valued at $43,000. Two runners-up will also receive technology consulting, software, and hardware packages valued at $20,000. A panel of judges, made up of tech executives from local companies including Accenture, Microsoft, IBM, Capital One, and Sprint Nextel will select the winners.

"We're thrilled to be the Presenting Sponsor of the Technology Innovation Award and Luncheon again this year," said Katherine LaVelle, Senior Partner, Accenture. "Not only does this award provide valuable technology services to three outstanding nonprofits, it also highlights the important role that IT investments can make on nonprofit performance."

"The Technology Innovation Award enables us to learn about what other nonprofits are doing with technology, recognize their achievements, and share their innovations with the broader community," said Julie Chapman, President, NPower Greater DC Region.
