Campbell Hoffman Foundation Presents "Leadership in Health Care Access Awards"
Kathy Freshley, Senior Program Officer of the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation, and Margaret O'Bryon, President and CEO of the Consumer Health Foundation, are the first recipients of the "Leadership in Health Care Access Awards," presented by the Campbell Hoffman Foundation. Both have played leadership roles in defining the challenges in healthcare access today and moving the metropolitan Washington region towards the vision of 100% access and 0% disparity in health care.
Kathy Freshley and Margaret O'Bryon are founding co-chairs of the Health Working Group of Washington Grantmakers. They were also the catalysts for the Regional Primary Care Conversation, developed to establish and strengthen communication and relationships among health access coalitions in the area. Outcomes from this initiative include the development of the Federally Qualified Health Center in Northern Virginia, a regional collaboration in electronic medical records, and the conference "Innovative Approaches to Address Health Disparities in the Metropolitan Washington Region."
