Lehrman Foundation Chooses Kid Power-DC as 2007 Impact Award Winner

The Jacob and Charlotte Lehrman Foundation presented its Seventh Annual Impact Award to Kid Power-DC, a local community youth organization founded in 2003.

Kid Power-DC provides academic, artistic, and service-learning opportunities for youth in underserved neighborhoods in the District of Columbia. It empowers youth to become informed and engaged advocates for change in their own lives and in their communities.

The Lehrman Foundation recognizes the many programmatic and financial challenges that nonprofit organizations face as they evolve. In an attempt to address these challenges, in 2001 the Foundation created the $25,000 annual Impact Award to support an outstanding emerging nonprofit organization that is making an extraordinary difference in the Washington, DC community.
