Meet the Authors—Working Across Generations: Defining the Future of Nonprofit Leadership
San Francisco
Tuesday, February 24, 4:00-6:00 pm
The 2008 presidential election drew record numbers of young voters to the polls and inspired youth across the country to become more involved in politics and in their communities. Now, community leaders are looking for ways to build on that inspiration to bridge the generational gap. Just as the "millennial" generation enters the workforce, the devastation caused by the financial crisis may prevent boomers from retiring in the near future. What can we do moving forward to assure that we are best equipped to deal with these generational shifts in the workplace?
Join us for a discussion with Frances Kunreuther, Helen Kim, and Robby Rodriguez, members of the Building Movement Project and authors of Working Across Generations: Defining the Future of Nonprofit Leadership, to discuss the implications of generational change on leadership in the nonprofit sector. Working Across Generations presents ideas and gives practical advice on how to approach generational changes in leadership so that the contributions of long-time leaders are valued, new and younger leaders' talent is recognized, and groups are better prepared to work across generational divides.
