How to Apply to the Creative Work Fund
Santa Cruz
Friday, June 12, 9:00-10:00 am
The Creative Work Fund invites artists and nonprofit organizations to create new art works through collaborations. It celebrates the role of artists as problem solvers and the making of art as a profound contribution to intellectual inquiry and to the strengthening of communities. In fall of 2009, the Fund will invite letters of inquiry for projects featuring performing artists or visual artists. Collaborating artists must reside and organizations must be based in the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, or Stanislaus.
Frances Phillips, director of the Creative Work Fund, will describe the grantmaking process and respond to questions from potential applicants. The deadline for letters of inquiry will be 5:00 p.m. on November 6, 2009. Guidelines, geographic range, and other details will be posted at creativeworkfund.org in early July.
Immediately following this program is a two-part class on Proposal Writing Basics for Arts Organizations and How to Apply to the James Irvine Foundation's Creative Connections Fund (10:00 am-1:00 pm).
