Reality Grantmaking: Special Arts Edition
Oakland
Thursday, October 18, 9:30 am-12:30 pm
Co-sponsored by AFP Golden Gate Chapter, CBO Center, and Development Executives Roundtable
You’ve experienced reality TV—now get ready for “Reality Grantmaking.” At this session, participants will witness proposal review and decision-making as a panel of real grantmakers reviews proposals submitted by arts organizations. Applicants will be screened by the session moderators to ensure diversity of causes and proposal styles. Watch as their proposals are reviewed and scored by an expert panel of real-world funders. The agency with the highest score will receive a $1,000 mini-grant at the end of the workshop.
Participating funders will also provide an overview of current grant opportunities and application guidelines for their respective arts programs. Though applicants must submit requests for arts projects, grantseekers from all program areas are invited to attend and learn from the opportunity to listen in when funders evaluate submissions.
NOTE: If you are an arts organization and would like to submit a proposal for consideration at this session, see the RFP at www.dersf.org. All finalists must be present at the Reality Grantmaking session.
