Gain knowledge about grantmakers, their grants, and all aspects of fundraising, philanthropy, and nonprofit management. We invite you to use our library where you can search for prospective foundation funders using the Foundation Directory Online Professional free of charge, along with our growing collection of books, periodicals, and other print and electronic resources.
New materials are always being added to the library and a sampling of the most recent additions can be found in the following list. To find more materials from the San Francisco library, search the Catalog of Nonprofit Literature. If you'd like to suggest a title to add to our collection, please email email@example.com.
Become a registered borrower anytime the library is open and become eligible to borrow up to two items from our lending collection.
Requirements and procedures for registered borrowers:
Complete and sign a Borrower Registration Form and show a valid photo identification card. If your current Bay Area address is not indicated on the photo ID, you will need a utility bill or other proof of a current local address. This may be a home, business or college address but your name must appear.
Agree to comply with all library rules and regulations and to be accountable for any loss or damage to materials, assuming full responsibility for items borrowed under her or his name and committing to return them on time.
Up to two items may be borrowed for two weeks and checked out anytime during regular library hours.
Items must be returned to the library by closing time on the due date. If a holiday occurs, items must be returned by closing time on the following day.
Foundation Center staff will notify borrowers by phone or e-mail when items are overdue. Borrowers who fail to return materials will be denied borrowing privileges.
To borrow items labeled "high-demand" borrowers must leave a deposit that covers the cost of the item (plus tax and re-shelving fees). The Foundation Center will return the deposit to the borrower when the item is returned. Once an item is 30 days overdue it will be considered lost, the borrower will be denied future borrowing privileges and the check will be deposited to cover the cost of the borrowed item(s).
If an item is lost or damaged, the library will submit a bill to the borrower for full replacement cost, plus a $5 re-shelving fee. Borrowers who lose or damage materials will be denied borrowing privileges.
