STARS Foundation Accepting Applications for Impact Awards

Founded by the Dabbagh Group and based in London, the STARS Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations working with disadvantaged children. The foundation is seeking applications for the STARS Impact Awards from locally registered organizations in Africa, the Middle East, and Asian Pacific countries.

The Impact Awards are designed to identify and support local organizations that achieve excellence in the provision of services to disadvantaged children and also demonstrate effective management practices.

The main Impact Award will be given to four winners per region — one each in the categories of Health, Education, Protection, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). The award package includes $100,000 in unrestricted funding, consulting and public relations support, media training, a portfolio of photographs and film showcasing the organization's work, and an all-expenses-paid week in London for an organization representative to receive the award and meet potential partners.

In addition, smaller award packages, including funding and other support, will be made to outstanding grassroots organizations that demonstrate potential for high impact.

Applicant organizations will be evaluated on a range of criteria, including delivery of programs and impact on the lives of disadvantaged children, governance and accountability to stakeholders, finance and administration, use of technology, innovation and flexibility, networking and collaborating with other organizations, human resource management, and inclusion and access.
