Latino Giving Circle at Chicago Community Trust Invites Grant Applications for Programs to Help Latino Youth Stay in High School

The Latino Giving Circle, a donor-advised fund of the Chicago Community Trust and Nuestro Futuro that provides funding to nonprofit organizations serving the Latino communities of metropolitan Chicago, is inviting grant applications from organizations working to keep Latino students in high school.

To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization or have a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that will serve as the fiscal agent for the grant; serve residents in the Chicago metropolitan area; have an organizational budget of $2 million or less for the current fiscal year; and be Latino-led and -serving (defined as having an executive director, or a majority of the board members, or a majority of the senior staff who are Latino and whose constituency is largely Latino).

The applicant organization must focus on education. Specifically, LGC is seeking to support innovative, hands-on programs that encourage high school students to stay in school and graduate. The program must have been in operation for a minimum of one year.

Three grants of $5,000 will be awarded for a period of one year.
