Boeing Invites Letters of Inquiry from Chicago Nonprofits Working to Benefit Local Communities
Boeing Corporation is accepting Letters of Inquiry from nonprofit organizations working in the areas of education, environment, health and human services, arts and culture, and civic engagement to benefit the people of Chicago.
Education grants will be awarded for projects that promote improvements in the care and education of children from birth to age five. In addition, the company supports projects to improve students' lifelong learning, with an emphasis on common core and STEM. Environment grants will be awarded for efforts to educate and engage communities on the importance of reducing their impact on the environment and climate change. Letters of inquiry for education and environment grants are due March 18, 2013, with final proposals due April 30.
Arts and cCulture: grants will be awarded for programs that leverage the City of Chicago's Culture Plan and Chicago Public Schools Arts Education Plan. Programs designed to increase participation in the arts and broaden perspectives, cultivate creativity, and engage citizens with the broader world also will be considered. Letters of inquiry for arts and culture grants are due April 1, 2013, with final proposals due May 31.
Health and human services grants support collaborative programs that address skills training, job placement, asset building, and healthcare access and quality. Programs that provide for the economic growth of underserved communities through social enterprises and systemic improvements in service delivery also will be considered. Civic engagement grants support projects designed to increase public understanding and engagement in the processes and issues that affect Chicago, including those that develop current and future leaders to build better communities. Letters of inquiry for health, human services, and civic engagement grants are due July 1, 2013, with final proposals due August 31.
Only Chicago-based nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code may send a Letter of Inquiry; select applicants will be invited to submit a full application.
