Theatre Communications Group Accepting Proposals for International Collaboration Grants
Theatre Communications Group Accepting Proposals for International Collaboration Grants
The Global Connections program, an initiative of the New York City-based Theatre Communications Group, is accepting proposals from theater organizations and individual artists in support of collaborations between U.S.-based artists and their colleagues around the world.
The program offers travel and project development grants, including On the Road grants of up to $5,000 to foster new relationships and facilitate cultural change with international colleagues and In the Lab grants of $10,000 to further pre-existing international collaborations by supporting residencies that either advance the development of a piece or explore elements leading to a full production.
Eligible organizations must be classified as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, have a history of developing or producing their own theater works over the last three years, and employ at least one full-time salaried staff person at the time of application. In addition, all artists within the organization must receive fair compensation for their work (although it is not necessary for the theater to use an Equity contract).
To be considered, individual artists must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have a minimum of five years' experience working in nonprofit theater, and have mounted professional productions within the last year.
See the TCG Web site for eligibility and application guidelines.
