Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles Announces Call for Capital Grants Proposals
The Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles is inviting applications for its 2013 Capital Grants program.
Awards of up to $100,000 are available for new construction and renovation and upgrades at existing synagogues, schools, and nonprofit organizations that predominantly serve the Los Angeles Jewish community. Grants will not be made for routine building repairs or equipment purchase.
To be eligible, organizations must demonstrate feasibility for completion of the requested portion of the project by March 31, 2015 (two years from the date of grant award); substantiate community need for the project; demonstrate both board and community support; present evidence of fiscal ability to cover the associated operational and program costs; and provide a board-approved fundraising plan designed to ensure project completion.
Applications will not be accepted for projects in hiatus resulting from inadequate fundraising.
The deadline for inquiries about the program by phone or email is November 1, 2012.
Visit the foundation's Web site for complete program guidelines, the eligibility checklist, and application instructions.
