Sea Turtle Conservation Fund Seeks Research and Conservation Grant Proposals
Sea Turtle Conservation Fund Seeks Research and Conservation Grant Proposals
The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation's Sea Turtle Conservation Fund is seeking grant proposals for sea turtle research and conservation projects.
Eligible applicants are individuals, organizations, and agencies (excluding U.S. federal government agencies) working on projects to increase the populations of North Atlantic leatherback and loggerhead turtles, Caribbean hawksbills, and East Pacific leatherbacks, hawksbills, and loggerheads.
The most competitive projects for this funding cycle will directly implement projects in five priority topic areas. (Projects outside of these priority areas or that indirectly influence these topics are still eligible for funding provided they support the current goals and objectives of the Sea Turtle Conservation Fund.) The five priority topic areas are 1) Northwest atlantic loggerhead bycatch mitigation; 2) Caribbean hawksbill bycatch assessment and mitigation; 3) EP leatherback bycatch mitigation; 4) EP leatherback bycatch rapid assessment; and 5) Caribbean hawksbill nesting productivity assessment.
The majority of awards under this program will fall in the range of $25,000 to $150,000. A minimum of a 1:1 match of cash or in-kind services is required.
Pre-proposals in English must be submitted via the foundation's online system.
