Bush Foundation Announces Fellowship Program for Elected and Public Officials
The Bush Foundation has announced a partnership with GTS Educational Events to administer a special round of the Bush Fellowship Program exclusively for elected and public officials.
The opportunity is available to individuals in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and the twenty-three Native nations that share the same geographic area. GTS will oversee the selection process on behalf of the foundation.
The Bush Fellowship program is designed to provide individuals with opportunities to increase their understanding, capacity, and practice of leadership, while working with others to increase the vitality of their community. The fellowship program combines opportunities for personal development with opportunities to effectively engage with others to create positive change within their communities.
Eligible applicants are as follows: elected state or federal officials; elected local or tribal officials who earn $20,000 or more (in their elective office); federal employees in positions listed in Schedule C of Rule VI of the Civil Service Rules; federal employees who receive an annual base compensation of $15,000 or more; congressional employees who receive an annual base compensation of $15,000 or more; appointed state or tribal officials with independent policymaking authority and who receive gross annual compensation of $20,000 or more (e.g., commissioners, agency heads, and members of boards with policymaking authority); state or tribal judges who receive gross annual compensation of $20,000 or more; or personal or executive assistants or secretaries who report to any of the eligible individuals.
All applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States; at least 24 years old at the time of the application deadline; have lived for a continuous year immediately prior to the application deadline in the eligible geographic area; and continue to live in that area during the duration of the fellowship.
A Bush Fellowship is a two-year commitment. Fellowship funds are paid out in installments, with funding ranging from $25,000 to $75,000.
