Inglis Seeking Applications for Awards for Continuing Excellence

Inglis Seeking Applications for Awards for Continuing Excellence

Inglis, which provides programs and services to enable people with physical disabilities — and those who care for them — to live life to the fullest, is accepting applications for its Awards for Continuing Excellence. The program is designed to honor the outstanding performance of nonprofit organizations in the greater Delaware Valley region that provide direct services, products, and/or advocacy for people with physical disabilities.

The Inglis board of directors has extended the program through June 2013.

Applicants must address issues of access to health care, housing, employment, education, formal and informal supports, recreation, socialization, or transportation, either through provision of services or products, or with advocacy activities. (Please note: organizations serving populations of adults or children with multiple disabilities that include physical or mobility disabilities will be considered. Organizations serving populations with only sensory or intellectual disabilities will not be considered eligible.)

Organizations must provide services in the greater Delaware Valley region (Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Lehigh counties, Pennsylvania; Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties, New Jersey; or New Castle County, Delaware). Applicants must be not-for-profit organizations that are tax exempt under Sections 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1), or 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The awards are unrestricted grants and reflect and reward past performance; funds may be used at the discretion of the recipient organizations. Past awards have ranged from $6,700 to $20,000.

The full application, guidelines, and information on previous award recipients are available at the Inglis Web site.
