Hogg Foundation Announces Texas Psychology Internships Accreditation Initiative
Hogg Foundation Announces Texas Psychology Internships Accreditation Initiative
The Hogg Foundation invites Texas-based nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and higher education institutions with existing pre-doctoral internship programs to submit proposals to pursue accreditation by the American Psychological Association.
The primary goal of this initiative is to increase the number of well-qualified psychologists in Texas. A secondary goal is to improve the psychological services being delivered to the people of Texas.
Depending on the quality of the proposals received, the foundation plans to award a total of $375,000, over two years to four to six Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, or institutions of higher education.
The activities of the grant program will include preparation of an APA-accreditation application and self-study by the internship program's training director; consultation related to the self-study preparation and site visit; and attendance at workshops regarding self-study preparation. It is expected that a site visit will occur during the second year.
The complete Request for Proposals and application materials are available at the Hogg Foundation Web site.
