PetSmart Charities Accepting Applications for Spay/Neuter Grant Programs
PetSmart Charities Accepting Applications for Spay/Neuter Grant Programs
PetSmart Charities is accepting grant applications for its two high-impact spay/neuter United States grant programs.
The Targeted Spay/Neuter Program is intended to provide funding and mentoring for high impact spay/neuter project that focus on owned pets in areas where there is a critical need. Target areas may include all or part of a county, city, township, ZIP code, census tract, neighborhood, mobile home park, or other location.
The Free-Roaming Cat Spay/Neuter Program is intended to provide funding and mentoring for high-impact trap-neuter-return projects. The goal is to stabilize and ultimately reduce the free-roaming cat population within a specific geographic area. Target areas may include all or part of a county, city, township, ZIP code, census tract, neighborhood, mobile home park, or other location.
Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, a pre-determination or decision letter from the IRS and at least twelve months of financial records after date of incorporation; and government, law-enforcement, and tribal entities, or educational institutions with a budget for animal care/control. PetSmart Charities typically does not provide funding to private foundations.
For both programs, PetSmart Charities will consider application requests of up to $100,000 per year, with the possibility of a two-year commitment. The maximum possible grant is $200,000 for two years. Mentorship for grantees is also available during the course of a funded project and ongoing communication with PetSmart Charities staff is highly recommended.
Organizations are eligible to apply for only one of the grant programs (targeted spay/neuter or free-roaming cat) at a time.
The programs will accept applications from July 15, 2012, until August 31, 2012. PetSmart Charities will review and approve applications on a rolling basis.
