Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition Offers Grants for Central Illinois Counties
With support from the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Foundation,the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition has announced the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition/Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area 2012 Partnership Grants for communities within the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area.
Ranging from $500 to $1,500, the 2012 Partnership Grants are designed to support efforts to perpetuate and expand Lincoln's vision for America and complete his unfinished work.
The grants will support sites, attractions, and events of educational value that focus on the heritage of the forty-two central Illinois counties in the Lincoln National Heritage Area (Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Dewitt, Douglas, Edgar, Fayette, Fulton, Greene, Hancock, Henderson, Jersey, Knox, LaSalle, Logan, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Mason, McDonough, McLean, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Moultrie, Peoria, Piatt, Pike, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Shelby, Tazewell, Vermillion, Warren, and Woodford).
Informational sessions about the grants are scheduled for July 11 and August 15, 2012, in Springfield.
