Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Center for Sharing Public Health Services Announces Shared Services Learning Community 2012 Call for Proposals
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Center for Sharing Public Health Services Announces Shared Services Learning Community 2012 Call for Proposals
The Center for Sharing Public Health Services, a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that is administered by the Kansas Health Institute, works to strengthen the ability of public health agencies in the United States to improve the health of the communities they serve by supporting efforts to explore, inform, and track the implementation of innovative regional or shared approaches to the delivery of public health services.
The center will manage and convene the Shared Service Learning Community, a program to foster a peer-learning environment among teams of public health leaders and policy makers that are taking a systematic approach to cross-jurisdictional sharing.
Cross-jurisdictional sharing is a sharing of services, resources, and functions across multiple public health agencies and jurisdictions ranging from informal agreements around sharing discrete services or programs to regionalization, including the formal merger or consolidation of multiple public health agencies.
In order to better understand the opportunity and impact of cross-jurisdictional sharing among public health agencies, RWJF will provide two-year grants of up to $125,000 to up to eighteen teams of public health officials, policy makers, and other stakeholders that are exploring, implementing, and/or improving CJS arrangements between two or more public health agencies. RWJF seeks proposals from teams that include, at a minimum, public health leaders and policy makers (i.e., public administrators, board members, and/or elected officials) from each jurisdiction involved in the sharing effort. Teams must choose an organization to serve as the lead organization and grant recipient. To be eligible, the lead applicant organization must be located in the U.S. or its territories and be a state or local government agency or tribal group recognized by the U.S. federal government, or a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
An optional applicant webinar will be held on June 26, 2012, to answer questions on the program. Registration is required.
The complete cCall for Proposals, webinar details, and the online application are available at the RWJF Web site.
