Greater Rochester Health Foundation Invites Applications for Opportunity Grants
Greater Rochester Health Foundation Invites Applications for Opportunity Grants
The Greater Rochester Health Foundation
is accepting applications for its Opportunity Grant program from organizations that have identified a pressing health need in their community and have conceived a proposed program or activity to address the issue.
To be eligible, applicant organizations must be located in GRHF's service area (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties).
This grant cycle will support projects that align with GRHF priorities in the areas of 1) Prevention — the foundation will invest in public health initiatives that facilitate people's ability to make responsible choices and help them to maintain good health status and prevent illness and disability; and 2) Healthcare Delivery — the foundation will support efforts that increase the present and future affordability and clinical quality of greater Rochester's high-quality healthcare system.
The foundation will not consider funding proposals focused on childhood obesity prevention and treatment, Neighborhood Health Status improvement, provision of insurance for the uninsured, or research.
The foundation will consider applications from existing 501(c)(3) organizations, for-profit organizations whose work is consistent with the mission of GRHF, and public entities (municipal government and school districts).
Applicants may apply for one-time awards of one- to three-years in duration. Five to ten grants ranging from $50,000 to $200,000 per year will be made.
GRHF will host two informational teleconferences for prospective applicants on June 12 and June 17, 2012, and two informational workshops on June 26 and June 27, 2012.
Visit the GRHF Web site for the complete Request for Proposals, application procedures, and details on the informational teleconferences and workshops.
