Foundation for Youth Investment Offers Impact Grants to Connect Underserved Youth to Outdoors in Northern and Central California
Foundation for Youth Investment Offers Impact Grants to Connect Underserved Youth to Outdoors in Northern and Central California
The Foundation for Youth Investment, an initiative of the Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council created to provide greater resources to connect children, youth, and young adults to nature via parks and outdoor spaces, is inviting Northern and Central California nonprofits to apply for Impact Fund program grants to support work designed to get youth outdoors.
The FIY Impact Fund is designed to provide youth-serving organizations with the resources they need to get underserved youth between 13 and 18 years of age connected to the outdoors. This round of funding is open only to organizations with annual operating budgets of more than $250,000. (Organizations with smaller budgets may be eligible for the FYI Catalyst Fund.)
These grants have the potential to provide resources to overcome some of the obstacles and barriers identified in the Foundation for Youth Investment's background research. In particular, these funds have the potential for improving access to high-quality outdoor experiences, enhancing the cultural relevancy of the programming offered by the grantseeking organization, and/or creating an innovative approach to reaching this population. These funds may be used for but are not limited to dedicated programming or operations, program staff, program development, and capacity building.
Applicants must be a federal and California tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization; or a public agency, school district, or federally recognized tribe; or have an eligible tax-exempt organization serving as fiscal sponsor. Applicant organizations must have been in operation for at least one full calendar year.
Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded. Impact Fund awards are targeted program grants; general operating requests will not be considered.
