National Center for Creative Aging Invites Nominations for Research Award in Creativity and Aging

Sponsored by the National Center for Creative Aging, the Gene D. Cohen Award is designed to recognize and honor the seminal work of Dr. Gene Cohen, whose research has shifted the conceptual focus of the field of creativity and aging from a problem paradigm to one of promise and potential. The award is presented annually to a professional whose research in the field demonstrates the positive attributes and potential for achievement that come with aging.

Award nomination is open to any individual who has produced research that demonstrates the benefits of creativity in the arts, including but not limited to visual arts, music, dance, drama, writing, and multimedia. Nominees should demonstrate leadership and contributions in the field of creativity and aging through research.

Presented annually at the Gerontological Society of America Annual Scientific Meeting at the Arts and Humanities Reception, the award provides funding to cover travel and lodging expenses (limit $1,000) to attend the meeting (registration included), as well as publicity in aging-related media.
