GlaxoSmithKline Invites Healthcare Nonprofits in Philadelphia Area and North Carolina to Apply for IMPACT Awards
GlaxoSmithKline Invites Healthcare Nonprofits in Philadelphia Area and North Carolina to Apply for IMPACT Awards
A program of pharmaceutical and healthcare company GlaxoSmithKline, the IMPACT Awards are designed to acknowledge, highlight, and reward excellence in the nonprofit healthcare communities of the Philadelphia area and the North Carolina Research Triangle Park region. Annually, up to ten organizations in each region receive $40,000 each for outstanding achievements in providing access to healthcare for the underserved.
The IMPACT program is designed to reward Innovation, Management, Partnership, Achievement, Community focus, and Targeting need. Nonprofits are honored for their overall work, not for specific programs.
In the Philadelphia area, up to ten organizations in Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Northampton, and in the City of Camden, New Jersey, will receive awards.
In North Carolina, GlaxoSmithKline and the Triangle Community Foundation will make up to ten awards to nonprofits in Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Forsyth, Franklin, Guilford, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Orange, Person, Randolph, and Wake counties.
To be eligible, applicants must be physically located in an eligible county; provide access to healthcare services (primary mission and resource allocation); have annual total operating expenses between $160,000 and $3 million (as documented in the organization's most recent fiscal year financial statement); and have been in existence as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for at least five years as of 2012.
