Imagine Science Films Seeks Submissions From New York City Filmmakers for New Film Lab Program
Imagine Science Films Seeks Submissions From New York City Filmmakers for New Film Lab Program
Imagine Science Films, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting a high-level dialogue between scientists and filmmakers, has launched a new short film project.
The ISF Film Lab seeks to bring scientists and filmmakers together to make imaginative short films. In the program's first year, the lab is seeking New York City-based filmmakers who have already received permission to film in a New York science lab. Filmmakers must commit to a one-month observation/development period in which they spend at least twenty hours a week at the lab, and a one-month production period.
The program seeks filmmakers who have finished at least one film that shows promise; have a demonstrable interest in science and a promising idea for a short film that can be shot in collaboration with a science lab; have the enthusiastic support of a scientist and the consent of the lab where the film will be shot; can complete an imaginative short film (under ten minutes) by the end of the program's second month; and can demonstrate an ability to do great things on a minimal budget.
The winning proposal will receive a $3,000 grant and use of a Canon 7D camera package.
Visit the ISF Web site for complete program guidelines and application procedures.
