Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Seeks Proposals for Public Health Services and Systems Research: Building Evidence for Decision-Making
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has announced a call for proposals for its Public Health Services and Systems Research: Building Evidence for Decision-Making program.
The solicitation seeks to expand the evidence base for effective decision-making in public health practice and policy through research that utilizes natural experiments to respond to the questions defined in the National Agenda for Public Health Services and Systems Research.
Grants will support efforts to produce evidence that can inform public health practice and policy decisions by comparing systems with change in organizational structures, legal infrastructure, financing mechanisms, and service delivery strategies to systems without changes.
Applicants may be public entities or nonprofit organizations or academic institutions that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Private foundations, as defined under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, also are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to proposals submitted by public health agencies, nonprofit organizations that work in concert with such agencies, and proposals that involve multidisciplinary teams. Applicant organizations must be based in the United States or its territories, and the primary investigator must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. resident non-citizen national, or resident foreign national.
In order to expand the field of PHSSR, proposals are encouraged from researchers representing disciplines such as law, public policy, economics, business administration, organizational behavior, sociology, finance, urban planning, public administration, information and library science, and industrial and systems engineering.
Approximately $1.4 million is available through this solicitation. Up to seven grants of up to $200,000 each will be awarded for a twenty-four-month period.
An optional Web conference call will be held on February 28, 2012. Registration is required.
