Twentieth Century Fox and National Association for Music Education Announce Glee Student Video Contest to Benefit School Music Programs
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and the National Association for Music Education have announced "GLEE Give a Note," a campaign to donate $1 million to public school arts programs across the U.S.
Eligible high schools in the fifty states and the District of Columbia are invited to submit creative videos (no longer than two minutes) about why their school deserves a grant. Videos must share the story of why the school is deserving of a grant to preserve or further its existing music education program.
The contest may be entered only by school principals and/or administrators of eligible schools. An "eligible school" is defined as a public school owned or operated by a government or governmentally controlled school board and recognized or approved by the Department of Education of the state or D.C. where it is located, that offers a music education program for some or all of its students, and whose students must attend a physical campus. Eligible schools are limited to one entry.
On October 11, 2011, entries will be posted on the program's site and put up for public vote for thirty days. A panel composed of NAfME members will conduct a final vote and seventy-three winning schools will be announced in December 2011.
There will be three grand prizes of $50,000; ten first prizes of $25,000; and sixty second prizes of $10,000.
Visit the program Web site for complete entry guidelines.
