Dominion Seeks Student Entries for Writing Contest Focused on African-American Leaders
Energy company Dominion is inviting high school juniors and seniors in its service area to participate in an essay-writing contest focused on the achievements of outstanding African-Americans as part of Dominion's 2009 "Strong Men & Women: Excellence in Leadership" series.
Dominion's Strong Men & Women series annually recognizes African-American state and national leaders. To participate in the contest, students must research and write a 400-word essay about the achievements of leaders who have been honored during the series' nineteen-year history.
High school juniors and seniors from schools in the Virginia and northeastern North Carolina service area as well as students who are currently juniors or seniors at a public or private high school in the Dominion East Ohio service area are eligible to participate.
Winning students will each receive a laptop computer and their schools will each receive a cash award of $1,000.
Contest guidelines and entry forms are available at Dominion's Web site.
