Nominations of Innovative Domestic Violence Programs Invited for Mary Byron Project Celebrating Solutions Awards Program
The Mary Byron Project, a national organization working to address the root causes of domestic violence and help build safer, healthier communities, created the Celebrating Solutions Awards to honor local innovations that demonstrate promise in breaking the cycle of violence. The awards program seeks to showcase programs that can serve as models for the nation.
To be eligible for an award, a program must address the issue of domestic violence and must be part of a U.S. nonprofit 501(c)(3) or government agency. Both the nominated program and the institution must have been operating for a minimum of three years. The program should be replicable or, if it is national in scope, have applications for individual communities, regardless of their size or ethnic population. Organizations operating outside the United States or a U.S. territory are not eligible to apply.
The program provides cash awards of $10,000 each in recognition of existing programs and/or innovations. Guidelines and nomination form are available at the Mary Byron Project Web site.
