Stage Director and Choreographers Foundation Invites Applications for Observership Program
Stage Director and Choreographers Foundation Invites Applications for Observership Program
The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation's Observership Program was established to offer early-career directors and choreographers the opportunity to observe the work of master directors and choreographers as they create new productions on Broadway, off-Broadway, and at leading regional theaters around the United States.
In 2009-10, twenty-five SDCF Observers will shadow mentor directors and choreographers through the entire production process, from first rehearsal through opening night. Recent mentors include Kathleen Marshall, Doug Hughes, Oz Scott, Leigh Silverman, Des McAnuff, Sergio Trujillo, and Chay Yew.
Each observership includes a weekly stipend and small travel supplement. In addition, any observer who is not already a member of SDC will be awarded a one-year SDC associate membership upon completion of their observership.
Application to this year's program is free to SDC members and associates. A $15 application fee is required for those unaffiliated with SDC.
Visit the SDC Web site for complete program information.
