Getty Research Institute Announces 2009-10 Theme for Research Grants for Getty Scholars and Visiting Scholars
Getty Research Institute Announces 2009-10 Theme for Research Grants for Getty Scholars and Visiting Scholars
The Getty Research Institute's Getty Scholar and Visiting Scholar Grants are designed to provide a unique research experience. Recipients are in residence at the Getty Research Institute, where they pursue their own projects free from academic obligations, make use of Getty collections, join their colleagues in a weekly meeting devoted to the 2009-10 theme, "The "Display of Art," and participate in the intellectual life of the Getty.
The Getty Research Institute seeks applications from established researchers as well as those at the pre- and postdoctoral levels who are interested in questions bearing on the display of art and wish to be in residence at the Getty Research Institute or Getty Villa during the 2009-10 academic year. "The Display of Art" will remain the theme for the Getty Research Institute in 2010-2011; postdoctoral applicants are welcome to apply for both years.
Applications are welcome from researchers of all nationalities who are working in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.
A complete description of the 2010 theme is available at the Getty Web site. Guidelines and application forms for 2010 grants will be available on the site in July 2009.
