Ivy Foundation Announces New Funding Opportunity for Brain Cancer Research
The Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation is the nation's largest privately funded foundation dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for people diagnosed with a brain tumor. The foundation supports research designed to lead to the development of better diagnostics and treatment for patients with gliomas. In its inception year, 2008, the foundation awarded more than $10 million in total research funding.
The foundation has announced intended funding totaling up to $7.6 million through the 2009 Ivy Awards. The foundation's target area of impact for the 2009 awards is optimizing the efficiency of therapeutics development for adults with glioblastoma multiforme. The awards will provide up to $3 million each for three-year research projects.
Researchers with M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree who are affiliated with a nonprofit institution or for-profit organization in the United States or abroad are eligible to apply. Joint applications between academic institution(s) and for-profit entities will be accepted.
