Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation Announces S.T.E.M. Education Initiative for Los Angeles and Santa Clara Counties, California

The Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation has announced a Request for Proposals for nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations providing educational programming in partnership with public schools, as well as charter schools that have 501(c)(3) status, for grants to support effective in-school, out-of-school, or other enrichment programs that advance and supplement science, technology, engineering, and math education, align with California Department of Education Content Standards, and support children, youth, and teachers (grades three to 12).

Programs must be inclusive of the general population of Santa Clara County and Los Angeles County, and create opportunities for historically underserved youth. This constituent group comprises different age levels, cultural perspectives, knowledge and interest in the subjects, and has varying degrees of access to online information resources. Therefore, proposals must offer a theory of change (activities designed to produce an intended result) that is focused and anticipates, understands, and overcomes obstacles to motivation and academic success for the population served.

Grants will be awarded through a competitive process for program support in the $10,000 to $20,000 range.
