American Philosophical Society's Phillips Fund to Support Native American Research
A program of the American Philosophical Society, the Phillips Fund for Native American Research provides grants for research in Native American linguistics, ethno-history, and the history of studies of Native Americans in the continental United States and Canada. Grants are not made for projects in archaeology, ethnography, psycho-linguistics, or for the preparation of pedagogical materials.
The average award is approximately $2,500; grants will not exceed $3,000. Grants are intended for costs such as travel, tapes, films, and consultants' fees (but not for the purchase of books or permanent equipment).
