PND Reviews (03/02/04) -- Kaisernetwork.org
The mission of the Kaiser Family Foundation is to provide timely, reliable, and non-partisan information on national health issues to policymakers, the media, and the general public. To advance that mission, the foundation established kaisernetwork.org.
Launched in November 2002, kaisernetwork.org is the premier Web site for current health policy news, debates, and discussions. Its resources include broadcasts of major health policy events on the Web (HealthCast), an online library of health policy ads (AdWatch), a national calendar of events, customizable e-mail alerts, and reference links to additional online resources. The site's Issue Spotlight area provides in-depth background information, resources, and recent developments for several specific health policy issues. The Health Poll Search, a partnership with the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at the University of Connecticut, is a searchable archive of public opinion questions on health issues.
Kaisernetwork.org publishes four daily reports, which summarize news stories on health policy and provide links to the original articles. The Kaiser First Edition, available weekday mornings, features headlines and links to top health stories and events. The Kaiser Daily Health Policy Report provides information on legislative, political, legal, scientific, and business developments in healthcare issues such as Medicare reform, patients' rights, access, and the uninsured. The Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report and the Kaiser Daily Reproductive Health Report focus on topics within those subject areas. The daily reports are available online or as e-mail newsletters.
