Mission:
To utilize technology to facilitate the sharing of resources and information to improve nonprofit capabilities to benefit Texans. Texas Nonprofits (TXNP) supports the state's nonprofit community by bringing together nonprofit organizations, foundations, nonprofit advisors, and individuals.

Background:
Over the last year and a half, TXNP has collected information from a large community of Texas nonprofits, philanthropists, and foundations to create a Web site for the state's nonprofit community.

Outstanding Feature:
TXNP's new Web site offers several free benefits to registered users, including job opportunities, news and events from nonprofits around the state, a directory of nonprofit consultants, volunteer activities, and nonprofit wish lists. The site's fee-based services include the Texas Online Foundation Directory, which includes information on more than four thousand foundations in the state, and a database of more than seventy thousand nonprofit groups. Users can search by geographic location, area of interest, and size.
