On the Web - PhotoPhilanthropy
To connect photographers with nonprofit organizations around the world to tell the stories that drive action for social change.
The online PhotoPhilanthropy community was designed to connect photographers with nonprofit organizations looking to share their stories, exchange ideas, make connections, and generate additional funds for their efforts. Each year, PhotoPhilanthropy hosts an activist awards program for student, amateur, and professional photographers that features photo essays designed to educate and engage the general public in social change campaigns. Award winners in each category receive a cash prize ranging from $2,000 to $15,000.
Outstanding Web Features:
Visitors to the PhotoPhilanthropy site can browse photo submissions by topic; make a submission to the activist award program; browse or post volunteer opportunities; and explore a variety of photojournalism-related resources, including storytelling tips, success stories, and a list of artist residencies and workshops.
