California HealthCare Foundation Announces New Cohort of Leadership Fellows

California HealthCare Foundation Announces New Cohort of Leadership Fellows

The California HealthCare Foundation has announced the names of thirty healthcare professionals selected to participate in its 2012-14 Health Care Leadership Program.

To help broaden and sharpen their management and leadership skills, the clinically trained professionals will attend six seminars and participate in ongoing learning activities during the two-year program. Now in its second decade, the program has trained more than three hundred doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals and is led by nationally recognized healthcare and leadership development experts from the Center for Health Professions at UCSF and the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Graduates of the program become part of a statewide network that facilitates collaboration and additional skills development.

"The most pressing challenge to America's healthcare system is to improve quality while reining in the cost of care," said Mark D. Smith, president and CEO of the California HealthCare Foundation. "Responding to this challenge requires skilled and dedicated leadership."
