Chase Announces Winners of 2012 American Giving Awards

JPMorgan Chase has announced the recipients of its second annual American Giving Awards, a televised celebrity tribute event that aired recently on NBC.

The $1 million top prize was awarded to the More Than Me Foundation of New Jersey, which works to end child exploitation in Liberia, home to one of the world's most dangerous slums, by providing young girls with access to education. More Than Me will put the grant toward construction of a sustainable boarding school that educates one thousand girls in West Africa.

An additional $1 million will be split among the four runners-up: Krochet Kids International ($500,000), Timmy Global Health ($250,000), Team Rubicon ($125,000), and Together We Rise ($125,000). The winners were selected from a group of twenty-five Chase Community Giving grant recipients by Facebook users and Chase online customers.

"The 2012 AGAs lived up to its billing as an emotional and inspiring evening," said JPMorgan Chase Foundation CFO Dalila Wilson-Scott. "Our Facebook fans and customers came together once again to choose five outstanding charities to receive Chase grants. I am truly humbled by the amazing work these organizations do every day to make this world a better place."
