Give to the Max Day Raises $16 Million for Minnesota Nonprofits

Online fundraising platform GiveMN.org has announced that more than $16 million was raised for Minnesota nonprofits through the fourth annual Give to the Max Day event on November 15.

Breaking previous state and national records for charitable giving, this year's event generated donations from more than 53,000 people benefiting 4,381 nonprofit organizations in the state. In contrast, last year's event raised $13.4 million from 47,500 donors for nearly 4,000 nonprofits.

During the 24-hour event, "Leaderbooard Grants" of $12,500, $5,000, and $2,500 were awarded to nonprofit organizations and colleges that received the most pledges in their respective categories. In addition, "Golden Ticket" prizes in the amount of $1,000 were awarded hourly to randomly selected charities, while prizes of $10,000 each were awarded after the event to the Cannon River STEM School and Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota.

"People across our state know that when we all pitch in, great things happen," said GiveMN executive director Dana Nelson. "Give to the Max Day has become a celebration of Minnesota's philanthropic spirit and nonprofits have done an excellent job of embracing the day."
