Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Announces 2012 Executive Nurse Fellows

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Announces 2012 Executive Nurse Fellows

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has announced the selection of twenty nurses from across the country for its 2012 Executive Nurse Fellows program.

Located at the Center for Creative Leadership In Greensboro, North Carolina, the program seeks to strengthen the leadership capacity of nurses who aspire to shape health care on a regional and national level. Over the next three years, the 2012 fellows will continue in their current leadership positions at a wide range of health and healthcare organizations while also working to develop, plan, and implement new initiatives that improve healthcare delivery in their respective communities. Through the program, each fellow also will receive coaching, education, and other support services designed to improve their ability to lead teams and organizations in healthcare settings.

"Now more than ever, with our healthcare system preparing to care for millions more patients, many of whom are living longer but with more chronic conditions, we need nurse leaders who are well prepared to participate as full partners in this historic transformation," said the program's co-director, Linda Cronenwett. "The RWJF Executive Nurse Fellows program has a proud history of building and enhancing the leadership skills of extraordinary nurses all across the country. We are delighted to be able to work with this new cohort."
