Cardinal Health Foundation Awards Nearly $1.1 Million to Improve Patient Safety
The
Cardinal Health Foundation
in Dublin, Ohio, has announced grants totaling nearly $1.1 million to help hospitals, health systems, and community health clinics in twenty-five states improve patient care.
The foundation awarded forty-two grants of up to $30,000 through its E3 grant program, which was created in 2008 to support healthcare providers' efforts to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and excellence of patient care. For the third consecutive year, the program specifically encouraged grantseekers to submit funding requests for projects designed to improve medication management or efficiency and safety in the operating room. In addition, fifty organizations received grants to enable healthcare professionals to attend professional development programs at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
"We're pleased to support healthcare providers that are working to implement best practices and improve the effectiveness, excellence, and efficiency of patient care," said Cardinal Health Foundation chair Shelley Bird. "We congratulate this year's winners and their work to achieve meaningful, long-term improvements."
