The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced the appointment of GIRINDRE BEEHARRY as director of its New Delhi office. In that position, Beeharry, whose appointment is effective immediately, will be responsible for overseeing the foundation's programs, initiatives, advocacy, grantmaking, and partnerships in India. Beeharry has worked at the Gates Foundation since 2005, most recently as director of strategy in its Global Health program. Earlier, he served as a business development leader for immunization at Becton, Dickinson, and Co., and held a senior position at the World Bank. He currently serves on the board of UNITAID.

The Meals On Wheels Association of America has announced that president and chief executive officer ENID A. BORDEN will be leaving the organization in August to serve as CEO of the new National Foundation to End Senior Hunger, formerly the Meals On Wheels Research Foundation. Borden, who led MOWAA for twenty years, has served in an advisory or board role at the Sesame Street Food Insecurity Advisory Committee, the American Society of Association Executives, and the Nonprofit Advisory Board.

Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy has announced the appointment of RAHSAAN K. HARRIS as executive director. Harris, a doctoral candidate in public and urban policy at New School University in New York City, has been an EPIP member since 2009. Previously, he led diversity and racial equity initiatives as a program executive at the Atlantic Philanthropies and was executive director of Playing2Win. He currently serves as board chair of the Foundation for Research on Sexually Transmitted Diseases and on the Council on Foundations' Professional Development Committee, and earlier was a Connecting Leaders Fellow with the Association of Black Foundation Executive and an American Express NGen Fellow at Independent Sector. Harris succeeds Rusty M. Stahl, EPIP's founding executive director, who announced his departure in February after ten years leading the organization; Stahl will continue to serve as an advisor to Harris.

The F.B. Heron Foundation has announced the departure of JOHN WEILER, its vice president for finance and operations and longtime program officer, effective July 6. "John has been a terrific colleague to all of us here," said foundation president Clara Miller in a statement, "and a primary contributor to the extraordinary track record of this foundation. I knew John during my years at Nonprofit Finance Fund, and know he was much appreciated in the field."

The Birthright Israel Foundation has announced the appointment of DAVID FISHER as president. Fisher, a Cincinnati business leader who has held major leadership positions at United Jewish Communities/Jewish Federations of North America, is a past recipient of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati Kate Mack-Young Leadership Award and was named to the "Cincinnati 40 Under 40" list in 2000. Fisher succeeds ROBERT ARONSON, who will continue to support the foundation through the transition.

Commonfund has announced the appointment of IRAKLI ODISHARIA as a director on its risk management team. Odisharia, formerly a risk management specialist at Goldman Sachs, also was a teaching assistant at New York University. In his new position, he will work to advance Commonfund's proprietary economic and liquidity stress test models.

In other news, the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard University's Kennedy School has announced the appointment of CHRISTINE LETTS as interim director. Letts, founding executive director of the Hauser Center, is currently the Rita E. Hauser Senior Lecturer in the Practice of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Previously, she served as Indiana's secretary of transportation and director of its Family and Social Services Administration and was president of the Cummins Engine Foundation. Letts succeeds CHRISTOPHER STONE, who left the Hauser Center late last year to helm George Soros' Open Society Foundations.
