McKnight Foundation Announces Launch of Minnesota Cultural Data Project
The Minneapolis-based McKnight Foundation has announced that the Cultural Data Project operated by the Pew Charitable Trusts is now available to arts and cultural organizations in Minnesota.
Launched with support from a group of private and public funders, the Minnesota Cultural Data Project is designed to help arts and cultural organizations in the state build their capacity and demonstrate impact and value to their communities. After an organization submits its financial, programmatic, and operational data to CDP, it can use CDP tools to generate information for grant applications or create more than seventy on-demand analytic reports. Organizations also can use the site to understand how they compare operationally to similar organizations in their community or communities in other CDP states.
Now serving more than twelve thousand arts and cultural organizations in twelve states and the District of Columbia, CDP is governed by a consortium of organizations committed to streamlining the grant application process for cultural organizations.
"We hope that the Cultural Data Project will provide Minnesota arts and cultural organizations with data and tools that will help them more strategically manage their resources," said Minnesota State Arts Board executive director Sue Gens. "In addition, the project will provide information that grantmakers will be able to use to assess the impact of their investments."
