Rose Community Foundation Announces $3.1 Million in Grants

The Denver-based Rose Community Foundation has announced fourth-quarter grants totaling more than $3.1 million, including nearly $546,000 from donor-advised funds.

Grants were awarded to nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and projects working to improve the health and well-being of the greater Denver community. Grant recipients included the Boulder Jewish Community Center, which received a $500,000 challenge grant for construction of a new building; the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado, which was awarded $360,000 in support of local services provided by Jewish agencies; Volunteers of America Colorado Branch, which will receive $230,000 over two years to provide home-delivered meals and in-home safety support services for older adults; the St. Anthony Health Foundation, which was awarded $172,500 over eighteen months in support of its Senior Benefits Program; and Via, which received $110,000 to provide transportation services to older adults in Boulder and surrounding areas.

RCF also awarded a two-year, $120,000 grant to Mental Health America of Colorado to help increase the public's understanding of mental disorders, expand access to its services, and improve systems of care; a three-year, $90,000 grant to the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado, an initiative of Hispanics in Philanthropy and the Jay and Rose Phillips Family, Rose Community, and Western Union foundations, to promote Latino philanthropy and assist organizations serving the Latino community; $20,000 to Escuela Tlatelolco for a Montessori dual-language early childhood education program; and $15,000 to the Denver Children's Advocacy Center for a parenting program to protect children from abuse and foster healthy development.
