Maltz Jupiter Theatre Announces $7 Million Endowment Challenge Grant

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre in Florida has announced a $7 million endowment challenge grant from the Cleveland-based Maltz Family Foundation.

The three-to-one matching grant requires the theater to raise $2.5 million by June 30, which, when added to the theater's current $500,000 endowment, will bring the total endowment to $10 million. According to a theater spokesperson, income spun off by the endowment will support the theater's artistic and educational programs on an ongoing basis. The theater already has raised more than $1.6 million toward the match during the quiet phase of the campaign.

Founded nine seasons ago, the Maltz has a base of more than seven thousand subscribers and a Conservatory of Performing Arts that serves hundreds of youth and adult participants.

"When reached, this unprecedented offer will enable the theatre to continue growing far into the future," said the theater's artistic director, Andrew Kato. "It will ensure the theatre's ability to continue producing classic musicals and dramatic works, develop visionary new work, maintain state-of-the-art facilities for our theatre and conservatory, and remain a cultural treasure in the community."
