Huntsman Cancer Institute Receives $41 Million Gift for Cancer Research

Huntsman Cancer Institute Receives $41 Million Gift for Cancer Research

The Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah has announced a $41 million gift from its founders, Jon M. and Karen Huntsman, to support cancer research.

Founded in 1995, the institute works to understand cancer from its onset, create and improve cancer treatments, support patients suffering from the disease, and provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care. To date, the Huntsman family has donated about $300 million to HCI.

"Except for my family and faith, there is no cause more important to me than fighting cancer," said Jon M. Huntsman. "We are so pleased with the great work performed by Huntsman Cancer Institute in preventing cancer, caring for those who suffer, and searching for a cure. We feel blessed to be in a position to increase our support for this life-saving work."
