Berkshire Community College Receives $1 Million Grant for Lifelong Learning
Massachusetts-based Berkshire Community College has announced a $1 million grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation to endow the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkshire Community College.
The institute, a member-led organization, offers non-credit courses, lectures, trips, and special events to mature students living in and and around Berkshire County. The grant, which doubles the amount funded to BCC through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes program, will be invested with the Berkshire Community College Foundation.
"This program at BCC [is] one of only a handful of [OLLI] programs at colleges around the country that have been recognized by the Osher Foundation at the $2 million level," said Berkshire Community College president Dr. Paul Raverta.
