Knight Foundation Awards $2 Million to Fund for Our Economic Future

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has announced a $2 million grant to the Fund for Our Economic Future in support of the fund's efforts to advance economic development in Northeast Ohio.

The grant renews the foundation's membership in the 55-member funding coalition, which has raised more than $70 million since 2004 for economic development efforts in the region. In collaboration with Knight and other private- and public-sector partners, the fund is working to implement its Advance Northeast Ohio action plan to attract and grow businesses in the region, develop talent, promote racial and economic inclusiveness, and help local governments operate more efficiently and effectively.

"Knight Foundation has been a strong advocate and partner in shaping Northeast Ohio's economic strategy since the fund's inception in 2004," said Fund for Our Economic Future chair Dave Abbott. "We are pleased that Knight Foundation has chosen to continue its support of the fund and will continue to collaborate and attract and generate more jobs and investments in our region."
